Project overview

Accu Stadium, home of Huddersfield Town AFC, is recognised for its award‑winning 1994 design — a landmark in modern British stadium architecture. With original seating still compatible with the Link Mirage range, the stadium operators were able to utilise Link components when replacing damaged or fatigued seats, ensuring a seamless upgrade without the need for structural changes.

To refresh the stadium’s appearance and strengthen its connection to Huddersfield Town AFC’s identity, Link Stadium Seating was contracted to supply and install white Mirage seats arranged in stripes four positions wide, located within three of the four main stands. The result is a clean, modern visual pattern that enhances the stadium’s overall aesthetic while maintaining compatibility with the existing seating infrastructure.

A flexible seating solution for a modern stadium

The project demonstrates how legacy stadium seating can be upgraded efficiently using the Mirage platform. By fitting new plastics onto existing support posts, our installation team delivered a cost‑effective solution that reduced both labour time and material requirements — all while achieving a fresh, contemporary look across multiple stands.

The renewal comprised:

• Supply and installation of Mirage seats

• Striped seating pattern, four positions wide

• Installation across three main stands

• Reuse of existing support posts to reduce cost and installation time

This approach ensured visual consistency throughout the stadium while maximising value for the club.

Installation during the season

To maintain full operational capacity, installation was scheduled in‑season, with works carefully programmed between fixtures. This allowed Huddersfield Town AFC to continue hosting home games at full attendance without disruption.
